Back in early October I got a phone call from Gia Macool telling me she was making a trip to South Florida and she asked if I was interested in shoot for the Gia Macool Swimwear line with her while she was in town. Silly question, of course I was interested. I got to meet Gia when I body painted her one time as Wonder Woman and we became close friends. Macool informed me that she had gathered a few photographers to shoot various models including Jennifer Jordan, Heather Widle and Candy Breen.
For those that do not know, swimwear designer Gia Macool is also a very popular model that creates custom swimsuits for ladies looking for that unique sexy beach look or a competition bikini. I have worked several times with Gia, Jennifer and Heather on several occasions and also all three of them have attended my BodyPaintingX.com event in Jamaica as well but I had never worked with Candy so I was super excited to meet someone new.
The morning of the shoot we headed over to the Fort Lauderdale Beach inlet and the weather was really nice despite a few clouds and a little drizzle. It was great seeing the other photographers in action and allowed me to see different styles in motion.
“Being together with all the girls and seeing my new designs showcased from the shoot was awesome,” stated Gia Macool about the photo shoot. “The girls shot in 4-5 bikini’s a piece, a total of 15 new bikini designs! It was cloudy for a sunrise shoot, but the sun came out around 10am which we got some breath taking shots.”
I started shooting Heather Widle first. I originally meet Heather in Cancun while we were both working an event and I was excited to find out she lived in the Fort Lauderdale area. Heather joined me in Jamaica for BPX event for a week of photo shoots & body painting and it is always fun to work with her, she has gorgeous eyes and a rocking body that looks great in Gia Macool swimwear as you can see in these photos.
After finishing with Heather, I was able to shoot a little with Candy. She had a fresh young look with a great slim toned body. I loved her bright smile and positive energy on the shoot.
“I’d have to say the most memorable moment shooting today would be when I was going to sit on the rocks and discovering the incredible amount of big bugs crawling all over them,” stated bikini model Candy Breen about the Gia Macool Swimwear photo shoot. “I think I shot about 4 or 5 bikinis. When we first got to the beach the sun had just started to rise so it was beautiful! There was not much light for the photographers due to the clouds but the sky looked amazing. About halfway through shooting it actually began to drizzle, lucky for us we were in bikinis.”
After shooting Candy, I finally got to shoot with my buddy Jennifer Jordan who I consider a good friend that always puts a smile on my face. I got to meet her in the Bahamas at an swimwear event and was immediately drawn to her energy and outgoing personality. I got to body paint her on that event in the Bahamas so I invited her to my BPX event in Jamaica. She has been to several of the BPX events now, I love bringing her because she always puts everyone in a good mood on the trip. I am currently working on a music video with her and a few other models that will be uploaded very soon so stay tuned!
“The funniest memory of the shoot was when we were finishing up for the day,” stated bikini model Jennifer Jordan about the Gia Macool Swimwear photo shoot. “I was changing back into my original clothes and got my foot stuck in my pants. Hopped a couple of times and lost my balance. Down I went with my pants around my ankles and without a top. Thank god I was in the portable changer. So all anyone could see is a black cylinder shape topple over to the ground. The weather was perfect. A cloud was hoovering over for a little while and then came a light sprinkle. After that is was sunny skies. I probably changed like 5 times. Gia had so many bikinis that I wanted to shoot in. She’s very talented. My favorite was the Cotton Candy and the one made out of jean material. The Cotton Candy looked amazing in the sunlight. The Jean was a perfect match on the rocks.”
As you can well imagine, I had a blast that day with everyone and the photos turned out awesome.
“My most memorable time was definitely seeing all the sexy swimwear on the beautiful models and how well everyone worked well together,” stated Gia. “There where three photographers and three models, I fitted everyone for each look and directed the shoot, everything went well and was really happy afterwards because we got a ton of great pictures!”
